How soon does collections get deleted?

Once a dispute is submitted, the collection agency has 30 days to respond. Although, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) gives them up to 60 days to respond, we have seen positive results in 30 days or less. Everyone's credit file is different so results will vary but we have seen a 90% deletion rate when our process has been followed and applied.

I already arranged a payment plan with the collection agency, can I still dispute?

If you already arranged payments, you do have the right cancel the arrangement and begin your dispute process since you most likely do not have a contract with the collection agency.

Do I have to pay the collection even after it is deleted from my credit report?

Once you dispute a collection with a collection agency and they inform you that they will be requesting the collection account to be deleted from your credit report, the collection agency normally will either cancel the debt or return the debt back to the original creditor. In that case, the debt may still be owed to the original creditor but you will NOT contractually owe anything to the collection agency.
